“GB” is a foreign language school founded in 1988 and has been successfully operating ever since, with a yearly increase of its number of students and expanding the number of utilized classrooms, associates and covered area in the Pozega region. The primary number of its customers are school children both in elementary and secondary schools and adults seeking knowledge of English in order to be in the contemporary business trend.
Our school was founded in 1988 as an agency for foreign languages “London”. In 1993, through an acquisition process, the school was incorporated in “Bomix” ltd, and was operating under this name for the following three years when, in 1996, it was restructured into “GB” Ltd, and eventually, in 1999 it became “GB” agency for foreign languages.
In the beginning, the school had a fruitful cooperation with the Institute for Foreign Languages in Belgrade, regarding methods and course books, and their professors held final examination tests in our school in Pozega. This enabled our students to acquire certificates of the Institute, acknowledged throughout the country as a reliable proof of language competence.
In 1994, “GB” School adopted a new method of teaching, turning to Oxford language textbooks and additional materials. We have been organizing courses for children, teenagers and adults, covering all levels of general English. In addition, the school prepares its students for Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE, CPE) as well as TOEFL and ESOL.
Since 1996, “GB” has had a successful cooperation with a private language school form Seres, Greece, in the course of which we have organized exchanges of students and have strengthened the cultural bonds of our countries. As we are considered to be one of the leading regional educational centers, our priority is therefore to maintain high level of our service, including both up-to-date teaching methods and most competent teachers, regardless of costs. Our maxim has always been quality, not quantity.
We also were a partner of Pozega Municipality in IRD-CRDA project (International relief and Development – Community Revitalization through Democratic Actions) and in Community Policing seminar for Pozega Police Managers, doing all official translations. From 2001 to 2004, “GB” was selected and appointed by Pozega Municipality and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) to organize English language courses within the Municipal Support Programme (MSP), and was, among seven schools in seven municipalities, officially declared the best school in the region.
